Impact Evaluation of The Growing Up Free Project in Ghana

In 2015, Ghana and the United States of America signed a five-year Child Protection Compact (CPC) partnership to strengthen the efforts of the government of Ghana and civil society organizations to address child trafficking, including forced labour and child sex trafficking. The goal of the project was to enhance the effectiveness of efforts in combatting child trafficking and slavery in 34 communities over the original four-year period in six districts in the Greater Accra, Volta and Central Regions of Ghana. Formative Evaluation: Intrapartum Nutrition Assessment in Ghana

Information on oral intake during labour, or intrapartum care practices in general is scarce to non-existent across Sub-Saharan Africa and other low-to-middle-income regions. In Ghana, the National Reproductive Health Service Policy and Standards (2014) outlined the primary objective of care during labour, which is to ensure safe delivery of the newborn; with a specific objective being to minimize stress for the mother and baby during delivery.
