Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Mainstreaming

At Agresearch Lead, we mainstream Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) principles into programs and policies to promote equitable outcomes for women, youth, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and other marginalized groups. Our work is grounded in participatory approaches and internationally recognized GESI protocols.

We conduct comprehensive assessments to identify barriers and opportunities for inclusive participation in development projects and agricultural value chains. Based on field evidence, we co-develop GESI Strategies and Action Plans in close collaboration with stakeholders, while also producing tailored knowledge products and building institutional capacity for effective GESI integration.

To date, Agresearch Lead has successfully implemented over 12 GESI mainstreaming assignments across Ghana, Ethiopia, and Mozambique. These engagements have focused on key agricultural value chains such as rice, maize, soybean, groundnut, tomato, poultry, banana, organic cocoa, and oil palm, supporting private sector actors, NGOs, and development partners to build more inclusive and resilient systems.

Market Research

Agresearch Lead possesses deep, field-tested expertise in Ghanaian market dynamics and consumer behavior. Our team has led data collection and analysis for several high-impact projects, including the USAID SHOPS Project, which focused on family planning products, malaria test kits, and zinc supplements.

We have also played a key role in market systems research, particularly in the bicycle sector in Ghana, where we served as both a data partner and the national convening partner for the USAID Bicycles for Growth Project. Additionally, we have collaborated with organizations such as Farm Radio International, the International Labour Organization (ILO), and others on market studies covering critical crop value chains—maize, soybean, rice, and groundnuts—across Ghana and neighboring countries.
